Part 1 was about equipping you with the skills that you can gain from blogging without paying a cent. On this Part 2 engagement we take a look at the benefits you can gain by blogging…
Simple, you may be lucky and be approached by a magazine or newspaper publication to either write for them or produce your own work that they can circulate in their publication. And that my friend, is always such a compliment and something to brag about so get on it…
One of the things that boggled my mind back then when blogging for me was still in my head. I either drifted from wondering whether this was possible or whether it even existed that making money out of blogging was possible. Until I got down to business and started doing some research. The key was finding out how this worked because when you know how it works, you will then start setting up all the necessary buttons and links and then start making money by blogging either on your site or a company’s site, the possibilities are wide and endless.
Keep in mind: There is no one way of making money out of blogging. Find out which method would best work for you and you’d be good to go.
4. A Record Of Your Thoughts
Now you have a place or perfect platform to record your thoughts or just pour in your creativity. What I most like and celebrate about having your own blog is that nobody dictates for you on what to write about or even how to write about it. It is all on you and only you and that my friend is freedom.
3.Your Blog Is Now Your Portfolio
This right here is one of my favorite benefits and it works every time. Here is a scenario: imagine you are a fashion and lifestyle blogger. You decide on doing a pitch on a lifestyle magazine and the first thing they ask of you is ‘Please send us your portfolio of your previous work’ [you know they like saying this right]. At this point what you do is simply provide them with a link to your blog website and just like that, you have proven your point that you really would like to work with them and you are ready and capable.
5.You Become An Expert in your field (subject of focus and anything related)
The more you find your way and become comfortable in this, you then start to speak differently, with confidence and boldly. It does take time and practice though and trust me we have all been there but as you go on, you start to become an expert in your chosen subject. The more you get inspired, research and write, the more you gain the necessary knowledge that counts you in as an expert in your field.
6.Add Your Blog In Your CV.
Why not? After all it is your portfolio right! With all the skills mentioned above, why not then add your blog to your CV as proof that not only are you capable of creating something of your own and be solely responsible for what goes into it, but you are also a creative being. So go on, tell them that you love to write, edit, research, analyze and show them your blog to prove it!
I hope that this two part series on blogging will encourage you start a blog of your own. The Zan Avenue is not all about style and fashion but it is also about throwing in some educational bits here and there just to help you along on your journey as I, myself journey on.
